First female ever to hold the office
The Columbia Sertoma Club recently elected Karen McGrady as President for the upcoming 2009-2010 year. Karen is the first female to ever hold the position in the 59 years the club has been in existence.
Ms. McGrady was introduced and sponsored into the club more than six years ago by Todd Lewis and the late David Gibbons. Over the last six years, she has held nearly every position on the Board of Directors and participated in nearly every fundraiser with the Columbia club. In addition, she’s held multiple positions
at the District and Regional level within Sertoma International.
Karen continues a long line of leaders in Columbia Sertoma and will strive to raise even more dollars for local charities in the upcoming year. The club raised more than $116,000 in 2007-2008, and more than $100,000 in 2008-2009.
