The Columbia Sertoma Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious SERVICE organizations in the Columbia area. Since 1950 the club has assisted approximately 100 local charities and has raised approximately $4 million.
The Columbia Sertoma Club does two things to further the organization’s mission:
- Coordinate and host fundraisers throughout the Columbia community in order to donate funds to local nonprofits. Our current fundraisers include the annual Carolina Children’s Home Campaign effort (more than $36,000 raised in 2012), football parking, and the annual Tailgate Fundraiser for Charity. Past fundraisers include selling Grand Stand concessions at the State Fair, working the gateways at the St. Patty’s Day Festival in Five Points, selling concessions at the 3 Rivers Music Festival, selling concessions at MayFest and Columbia Bomber games, and many, many more.
- Hold weekly meetings at 300 Senate Street. The meetings feature influential leaders in the Midlands and provide a great opportunity for members and visitors to network and learn more about the local community.
The purpose of the Columbia Sertoma Club is to bring together members who care for each other and their community. We take pride in and enjoy providing service to others. Our Club forms a circle that faces outward for real service to mankind by supporting the Carolina Children’s Home and other local causes; and inward for friendship, acquaintanceship, fellowship, and growth through personal involvement.
