COLUMBIA SERTOMA CLUB ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT
Chris Burnette Named Sertoma’s 59th
Chris Burnette was officially named President of the Columbia Sertoma Club at its annual New Officer Installation Banquet held June 2 at Seawells.Mr. Burnette is the 59th person to hold the position since the club was started in 1950.
A Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley’s Columbia office, Chris had previously served on the Board of Directors for two years and held numerous other leadership positions within the organization.In addition to Sertoma, he currently serves on the board of the Epilepsy Foundation of SC and is a District Commissioner with the Indian Waters Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
“I am honored Columbia Sertoma would ask me to lead the organization in the upcoming year,” Chris said.“This is a wonderful opportunity to help raise even more money for the charities we regularly support.”
The Columbia Sertoma Club has raised more than $4 million for local charities since it was started in 1950, including more than $3.3 million for the Carolina Children’s Home.Last year alone the club raised more than $100,000 and made donations to more than twenty local organizations.The club meets every Monday at Seawells on Rosewood Drive.Additional information about the club can be found online at www.columbiasertoma.org.
